Benny was born on February 20, 2000. We gave him a Cherokee middle name (which translates as "an actor") because we thought his Jewish/Irish/French/Black background wasn't colorful enough.

Benny started small -- a sub-5 pound preemie, but is now literally off the charts: he's above the 100th percentule for both height and weight. He carries it well -- he's like a little Michelangelo sculpture; we're hoping this trend continues and he defies the potato people genes that run through both sides of the family.

He is astonishingly intelligent (not a surprise, genetically speaking), but in a interesting way. Verbally, he's somewhat advanced, but not strikingly so. But his perception is off the charts. He understands stuff, makes intuitive leaps, that are truly startling.

Speaking of intuitive leaps, Benny is already a gifted dancer. He has a remarkable ability to make up a new, appropriate dance for any type of music he hears, and has done so since before he could walk.

He is also enormously energetic and very bad news if you are a wall, a carpet, a piece of furniture, or anything that isn't nailed down.
